At a previous job at Edmonds College, I led the charge for a transition to a new scholarship management solution. There were three main reasons we wanted to switch: to gain more control over our application, a better reviewer experience, and deeper reporting.

With our previous solution, we had to rely on support staff for any minor change we wanted to make to our application or new scholarships we wanted to add, with no control over the timeline for those changes. Our reviewers constantly complained about how the review experience was set up; they had to switch between several different screens and applications, which made their process inefficient and stressful.

And the old reports just didn’t offer much value. When we evaluated alternatives, AwardSpring was the clear winner; it had all of the features that our previous solution lacked and it was more affordable.

AwardSpring gave me complete control over our application and all of our scholarships, so I could make changes whenever I wanted. My reviewers loved how easy it was to review using AwardSpring’s dedicated reviewer portal.

And custom reports allowed me to extract any data I needed for goal-setting or tracking progress. Implementing AwardSpring was an amazing experience.

I was really taken care of! My implementation manager was always available when I needed her, and she gave me clear milestones with training every step of the way.

And that support didn’t stop once implementation was over. Even today, AwardSpring’s customer support is the best out of any software company I have to deal with.

I can make a phone call and someone answers right away, or I can send an email, it’s my choice. Most companies just send documentation in response to a question or issue.

Not AwardSpring; their customer support team can log in to our app with me and walk me through exactly how to solve my problem. I really appreciate this because I retain the information better when I can actually see and experience the solution!

I have since moved on from Edmonds College to Shoreline Community College, but I got lucky: Shoreline uses AwardSpring too. And everything I loved about AwardSpring at Edmonds, the usability, reporting, and customer service, is just as awesome here.
